Microfinance

Welcome to Samhita Microfinance

Samhita’s microfinance program is the entry-level intervention among the full set of Samhita’s economic programs. It serves to bring the poorest of the poor, especially in remote regions across Central India, into the fold with financial inclusion services.

Samhita Microfinance began operations in rural Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh in December 2007. A parallel urban microfinance program was begun in the slums of Bhopal in February 2008. Samhita currently runs microfinance services in 18 districts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Current operational figures are provided in the table below. Samhita also pioneered an intensive Financial Literacy Campaign for all its members.
